On August 17th, the World Furniture Confederation Annual Conference and the World Furniture Industry Cluster Conference were successfully held in Dongguan. There are over 2,000 self-owned brands, more than 6,000 effective patents, and nearly 2 million square meters of various furniture stores and marketing centers. It has a solid foundation and profound heritage in industrial clustering and scale.
In the future, Houjie, Dongguan will focus on six aspects: industrial manufacturing, exhibition trade, design innovation, smart management, cross-border e-commerce, and cluster demonstration. It will collaborate with the China Furniture Association to plan the blueprint for the world's furniture manufacturing and promote the transformation of the billion-level furniture industry cluster into a trillion-level one.
In the southwest part of Houjie, a land area of over 1,000 acres will be planned and globally promoted for investment in the furniture industry. It aims to attract top home furnishing manufacturing and trading enterprises from around the world to settle in Houjie and create a digitalized and globalized modern smart home industry park. With the modern smart home industry park as the core, it will radiate throughout the town, the whole city, and even the Greater Bay Area. Efforts will be made to accelerate the implementation of intelligent, automated, and flexible transformations of production equipment in furniture manufacturing enterprises, cultivate a group of Industry 4.0 demonstration enterprises, and lead the entire industry's transformation and upgrade from "furniture manufacturing" to "furniture intelligent manufacturing".
An investment of over 50 million yuan will be made to upgrade and build the International Furniture Exhibition Avenue in the core area of 1 square kilometer at Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center. The project will integrate surrounding hotels, exhibition centers, and service resources to create an integrated furniture industry cluster economic belt for production, supply, and sales. The "International Famous Furniture Fair (Dongguan) " will be developed into a world-class professional exhibition brand. In addition, the "China International Furniture Import Expo" will be held in March next year. These events will gather momentum, stimulate industries, promote production, and create new opportunities for domestic and international high-quality furniture companies to tap into the market.
Establish an International Furniture Design Innovation Exchange Center and a global furniture design collaboration and sharing platform. Deepen the exchange and cooperation model of "association + universities + enterprises" to realize the integration of high-quality resources from the China Furniture Association, top design institutes, both domestic and international, and research and development patents from furniture manufacturing enterprises. By building a large-scale designer community and designer center, and hosting high-profile international designer competitions, attract top furniture industry design talents and skilled craftsmen from around the world to collide with inspiration in Houjie, appreciate the charm of Houjie, and root their development in Houjie. This will provide strong support for the high-quality development of furniture manufacturing in Houjie by ensuring a pool of talented designers and creative ideas.
A high-standard planning and construction of approximately 100 acres of World Furniture Industry Building will be carried out in Hall 10 of the Exhibition Center. It will be established as the Global Research and Cooperation Center, utilizing intelligent systems for management. The center will gather and cultivate industry elite management talents, while also introducing top international research institutions. Through the use of big data and precise monitoring of industry development trends and the latest consumer demands, it will proactively plan and implement furniture industry development strategies, effectively enhancing scientific decision-making capabilities.
Build a cross-border e-commerce headquarters base that integrates e-commerce talent training, procurement information consolidation, and brand cultivation and promotion around the World Furniture Industry Building, Famous Furnishings Expo Park, and Longjia Live Streaming Base. Vigorously introduce leading domestic and international e-commerce platforms such as Tmall, JD.com, Amazon, eBay, etc., in order to quickly seize the domestic consumer market and open up international market channels.
Nurture leading enterprises with top-tier capital, technology, and service capabilities, and promote more high-quality furniture companies to go public. Build a new highland for furniture products and resource convergence, aiming to surpass a total of 1,000 furniture manufacturing enterprises in the future. Invest 10 million yuan to establish a furniture museum that comprehensively showcases Houjie's furniture research and development, design, production, brand cultivation, talent development, intelligent management, and exhibition trade ecosystem, reshaping the benchmark image of "Houjie Furniture" globally.
